[08-06-2023] San Diego County, CA – 61-Year-Old Motorcyclist Severely Injured After Collision with Vehicle on Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla

A 61-year-old motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a vehicle in La Jolla, San Diego County, on Sunday evening, August 6, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident occurred at 9:01 p.m. at the junction of Little Street and Torrey Pines Road.

The incident happened when a 19-year-old man drove a 2016 Dodge Challenger south on Little Street. Upon reaching the intersection, he stopped before making a westbound turn onto Torrey Pines Road.

Tragically, the victim’s motorcycle collided with the Dodge’s side front fender during this turn. As a result of the collision, the motorcycle rider suffered multiple right femur fractures, as confirmed by Authorities.

The driver of the Dodge was not injured, and DUI was ruled out as a contributing factor in the accident, according to the officer.

The San Diego Police Traffic Division is currently investigating the incident.
