[08-08-2023] 29-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Collides With an SUV in OceansideA motorcyclist died after colliding with an SUV in Oceanside on Tuesday night, August 08, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol, San Diego Fire Department, and Paramedics responded to calls at around 11:01 p.m. to an accident on westbound State Route 78.

A male 29-year-old rider on a 2012 Harley Davidson reportedly collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander SUV driven by a 69-year-old man after going down in traffic lanes while approaching the Interstate 5 northbound transition ramp.

The driver of the Mitsubishi SUV did not receive injuries from the collision. The motorcyclist, however, died shortly after being rushed to the hospital. According to CHP, the motorcyclist was not driving under the influence of any substance.

Investigations are still underway, and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will disclose the motorcyclist’s identity after notifying the family.
