[08-11-2026] San Bernardino County, CA – One Killed After Big Rig Strikes Two Pedestrians in Barstow

One person was killed after a big rig struck a man and a woman in Barstow early Tuesday morning, August 11, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 12:15 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 15 near Hodge Road.

Initial reports indicated that a big rig struck two pedestrians, identified only as a man and a woman, before stopping along the side of the freeway.

Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died or information about the condition of the second pedestrian. It also remains unclear why the two pedestrians were on the freeway.

The CHP continues to investigate the crash.
