One person was killed, and two others were severely injured following a car losing control and crashing into a residence in South Pasadena on Saturday morning, August 12, 2023.
According to law enforcement, the incident occurred on Orange Grove Avenue, near Columbia Street in the 300 block, shortly before 2 a.m.
According to preliminary findings, the driver was reportedly maneuvering the vehicle at an approximate speed of 100 miles per hour when the loss of control occurred.
As a consequence, the car collided with several diminutive trees, signposts, and vegetation, ultimately culminating in a forceful impact that breached the home’s garage door.
The vehicle had three occupants; one passenger was declared deceased at the scene, whereas the driver and another were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities believe that drugs and alcohol contributed to the accident. The individuals involved are currently recognized as three men. If the two men in the hospital survive, they will be arrested for driving under the influence.
