According to the Department of Industrial Relations, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. in The Wonderful Company’s almond orchard along Pistachio Road.

The employee was reportedly crushed between stationary equipment and a mobile wagon while working in the orchard. Further information about the identity of the deceased employee was not readily available.

A spokesperson for The Wonderful Company, which owns the orchard, issued a statement on Tuesday acknowledging the incident and offering condolences to the departed’s family and loved ones.

It has since been confirmed that Cal/OSHA received a report of the incident and is currently investigating its circumstances.
