According to authorities, a police officer suffered minor injuries after a police car he was driving was struck by a vehicle that resulted in a multi-vehicle crash on Mission Boulevard on Monday, August 15, 2022.
The collision was reported along Mission and Warm Springs Boulevards at 10:40 in the morning.
An officer responded to a service call with lights and sirens when a member of the public struck their marked patrol car.
According to a police spokesperson, the driver kept going straight and struck several stopped cars.
On helicopter video, a Fremont police cruiser with significant front-end damage was visible in the middle of the junction. There were reportedly four additional vehicles, including a shuttle bus, involved.
According to the Fremont police, the cop was taken to a nearby hospital to treat minor wounds and later released. A police representative stated that although the motorist claimed to be in discomfort, they were not taken to the hospital.
Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
