The Gilroy Police Department responded to the accident on Leavesley and Monterey Roads around 8:45 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains undetermined, but a train reportedly struck a woman. The medical responders attempted life-saving treatments, but she did not survive.

No further information was released about the crash.
