[08-16-2026] Riverside County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Vehicle Near Palm Springs

A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle near Palm Springs on Sunday morning, August 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 7 a.m. at North Indian Canyon Drive and Teagarden Drive in North Palm Springs.

Authorities said a gray Kia was traveling westbound on Teagarden Drive and making a left turn at North Indian Canyon Drive when motorcyclist Lester C. of Desert Hot Springs collided with the left side of the Kia. The rider fell onto the roadway following the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a passenger in the Kia remained at the scene. The Kia driver was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with neck and back pain.

CHP said alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
