58-year-old Palmdale resident Jaime B. was killed after a DUI two-vehicle collision in Santa Clarita on Friday night, August 18, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Sierra Highway near Soledad Canyon Road around 11:15 p.m.
Jaime B. was driving a 2022 Toyota in the northbound lanes of the Antelope Valley Freeway to Soledad Canyon Road, while 43-year-old Palmdale resident Luis R. was traveling southbound on Sierra Highway in a 1998 Mercury. It is unclear what events led to the crash pending an investigation.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver sustained major injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center.
Luis R. was arrested following the crash.
It was believed that drugs or alcohol were involved in this tragic accident.
