Pedestrian Accident Statistics

Few people on the road are more likely to get hurt in an accident than pedestrians because they can’t protect themselves from injuries that could be fatal.

In the United States, pedestrian deaths have increased significantly in recent years. Between 2007 and 2016, there were 14 more deaths of pedestrians, but all other types of traffic-related deaths went down.

The dangers of drunk drivers were never in doubt for pedestrians. Driving while high on drugs or alcohol is a very bad thing to do. In the United States, drunk driving accidents don’t happen as often as they should.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says drunk driving kills 30 people daily in the United States. People think that 29% of all traffic deaths in the United States are caused by drunk driving. Most of the time, their blood alcohol content (BAC) is higher than the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
