[08-19-2023] 25-Year-Old Ramona Man Died in Single-Vehicle Accident in Temecula; Driver Suspected of DUIA 25-year-old passenger was killed, while a 23-year-old driver was hospitalized after a single-vehicle collision in Temecula Valley on Saturday afternoon, August 19, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported approximately at 12:30 p.m. on the southbound Temecula Valley 15 freeway north of California Oaks Road.

As per the details from the CHP, Agustin M. from Ramona was driving the 2006 Honda Civic southbound on I-15, traveling at a speed of between 70 and 75 mph. The driver reportedly carried out a maneuver judged to be hazardous, resulting in a lack of control over the Civic.

The car veered off the western side of the southbound I-15, making contact with a dirt embankment.

A passenger, who had neglected to fasten their seatbelt, was forcefully thrown toward the rear seating section of the Civic before the vehicle ultimately came to a stop on the right shoulder.

Tragically, Murrieta’s fire officials had to declare the passenger deceased on-site. His identity continues to remain undisclosed.

According to law enforcement, Martinez was suspected of operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs. He was transported to the Inland Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries.
