According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman sustained serious injuries when she was ejected from her truck after a two-vehicle collision with a tractor-trailer in Hilmar Saturday, August 20, 2022.
The collision transpired at 1:47 p.m. at Highway 165 and Williams Avenue intersection. The tractor-trailer overturned from the crash and spilled grapes all over the highway.
Zoe C., who is 20 years old and lives in Atwater, was driving east on Williams Avenue in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The CHP says that she stopped at the stop sign, but then she went into the intersection, right in front of a 2015 Freightliner pulling two trailers full of grapes.
Ruben S., 56, of El Centro, who was driving the Freightliner, had no time to avoid the crash. The front of the Freightliner hit the driver’s side of the Chevrolet, and the impact was strong enough to flip both cars over.
The CHP thinks Canto wasn’t wearing a seat belt during the accident. She was thrown out of the truck and hurt badly when she hit the road. She was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto by ambulance, Sicairos was not hurt in the crash.
The CHP found a lot of marijuana, hashish, and psilocybin inside the Silverado, also called “magic mushrooms.”
The reason for the crash is still being looked into.
