[08-20-2022] Tulare County, CA – One Person Killed, One Hospitalized After Crash Involving Train near Dinuba

According to the authorities, a man has died and a woman is in the hospital after their car crashed into a train near Dinuba Saturday morning, August 20, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. on Avenue 424 west of Road 72.

Investigators with the Tulare County sheriff’s office say the two were in a Toyota Camry when they hit the train and started a fire.

A man in his 20s who was driving died at the scene. His passenger, a woman in her 20s, had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Near the crash site, investigators shut down Road 424 for several hours, but it is now open again.

We don’t know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The cause of the crash is still being looked into.
