Six people, including young children, were injured following a solo-vehicle rollover crash in Lucerne Valley, San Bernardino County, on Sunday afternoon, August 20, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on State Route 247 and Lincoln Road, near Old Woman Springs Road, at around 1:43 a.m.
A black Chevy Traverse reportedly overturned several times off the road and crashed through a chain link perimeter fence. However, the cause of the crash could not be determined, pending the results of an investigation.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders reported several people on the ground and requested five ambulances. There were three juveniles critically injured and three adults with minor injuries. Two juveniles were transported to Palm Springs Hospital and one to High Desert Hospital.
The witness testimony indicated a baby in a car seat was among those transported, but that could not be confirmed.
No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved.
