The local authorities responded to the accident at the Belmont Caltrain station around 11:35 p.m.

As the northbound train drew near the station, it struck the pedestrian. Medical personnel rushed to the scene to provide treatment but discovered the victim had already passed away.

The people involved in the collision have not yet been named.

At the time of the crash, 13 people were riding the Caltrain, but no other reported injuries were reported.

The investigation into the crash continues.
