The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 300 block of South Union Avenue.

According to the police, an officer lost control of the patrol car at the highway’s earthbound onramp and slammed into a tree. It was necessary to get both officers out of the vehicle.

One of the officers sustained a moderate injury, while another officer suffered a minor injury.

The officers of the California Highway Patrol discovered the suspect’s abandoned car.
