[08-28-2023] Sacramento County, CA – Four People Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision Along Jackson Highway

Four people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Sacramento County on Monday, August 28, 2023.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District reported that the crash occurred at Grant Line Road and Jackson Highway intersect.

Authorities stated that three vehicles were involved, including a garbage truck. Officials said high-voltage power lines were knocked down, causing the fire to spread to vegetation along Grant Line Road after all three vehicles caught fire.

Three people were taken to the hospital, while one was treated at the scene and released. Just before 4:00 p.m., crews extinguished the vegetation fire, but Jackson Highway remained closed to traffic.
