DUI Accident Statistics

DUI accidents are a huge problem in the United States. Every day, people are injured or killed in DUI accidents. These accidents could be prevented if people would just not drink and drive. The problem is that many people don’t think they will get into an accident if they drink and drive. They think they are fine to drive, even though they may be over the legal limit.

According to ValuePenguin, 17% of fatal hit-and-run crashes across the U.S. occurred in California, the largest share of any state. There were 2,948 fatal hit-and-runs in California from 2010 to 2019, resulting in 3,056 deaths.

DUI accidents can happen in several ways. One way is when a driver is impaired and loses control of their car. This can result in the car crashing into another vehicle or object. Another way DUI accidents can happen is when a driver falls asleep at the wheel while intoxicated. This can result in the car veering off the road and crashing into trees or other objects.

Drunk Driving Fatality Data showed 10,142 Alcohol-Impaired Driving Fatalities in the United States in 2019. Statistics on drunk driving should not be taken lightly. This should serve as a wake-up call to everyone to take precautionary measures to reduce the number of car accidents. Almost all drunk driving incidents are avoidable, and the thought of a victim living with serious damage for the rest of their lives is heartbreaking.
