[09-05-2022] San Diego County, CA – Police Officer Suffered Injuries After a DUI Crash in Mission Valley

According to the authorities, a police officer suffered minor injuries after a DUI crash in Mission Valley on Monday morning, September 5, 2022.

The crash occurred around 12:50 a.m. on westbound Friars Road close to Interstate 15.

According to police, the officer suffered a laceration, lost consciousness, and other minor injuries. He received medications at a hospital and was then released.

The woman, who was suspected of DUI driving, crashed her SUV into the officer’s parked patrol car, according to the authorities.

They identified her as a 47-year-old Land Rover driver, and she was detained.

The officer was leaning out of his patrol car when it was rear-ended, according to the police.

The patrol car then collided with another vehicle.
