[09-06-2025] Los Angeles County, CA – Elderly Man Killed After Dog Attack Near 166th St. and Greystone Ave. in Norwalk

An 86-year-old man died after being attacked by two rottweilers while out for a morning walk in Norwalk on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred in a neighborhood near the intersection of 166th Street and Greystone Avenue.

Investigators said the man was walking in the area when two unleashed dogs attacked him, causing severe injuries, including a cut artery in his left arm.

Authorities stated that two bystanders intervened, fought off the dogs, and attempted to assist the victim until Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene.

The man was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries on Sunday morning.

Investigators located the dogs’ owner, who told deputies the animals had escaped from the home. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department indicated the dogs are expected to be taken by Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control and placed under quarantine.

The incident remains under investigation.
