[09-08-2025] Los Angeles County, CA โ€“ Person Killed in Crash on Southbound 405 Freeway at Sepulveda Boulevard in Sepulveda Pass

A person was fatally struck on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway at Sepulveda Boulevard in the Sepulveda Pass, Los Angeles, on Monday afternoon, September 8, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 1:55 p.m. The victim, who appeared to be standing outside a stopped vehicle on the right side of the freeway, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Video from the crash showed a body covered with a tarp near a vehicle on the right shoulder, with a gas can also visible. A flatbed truck, possibly involved in the collision, was stopped a short distance away. The truck driver was given a field sobriety test and taken into custody.

All southbound lanes, except the carpool lane, were closed while authorities investigated the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
