[09-11-2022] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Man In Crosswalk Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In Rancho Bernardo

According to the authorities, a pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a minivan in a crosswalk in Rancho Bernardo Sunday, September 11, 2022.

The crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the 15500 block of Bernardo Center Drive.

The San Diego Police Department reports that the victim, who was 33 years old and struck by a white minivan, was in a marked crosswalk equipped with a sign illuminated when it was driven through.

The man was taken to a hospital, but the injuries he sustained in the collision ultimately proved fatal.

The minivan driver turned himself in to the police shortly after one in the morning on Monday.

The identity of the victim, as well as the driver of the minivan, has not been made public by the police.

The investigators are still trying to determine what caused the collision.
