[09-14-2022] Several People Injured After a Car Crashed into Trader Joe’s in Castro ValleyAccording to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), eight people were injured after a vehicle slammed into a Trader Joe’s in Castro Valley on Thursday afternoon, September 14, 2022.

Four individuals were hospitalized, including a five-year-old.

Some of those injured were hit by debris rather than the automobile. One of those who was hurt was a shop employee.

The injuries were described as “mild to moderate” by the CHP.

According to CHP, a silver Toyota Avalon drove past the store’s door and ended up at the checkout lanes. The store is at 22224 Redwood Road.

The 88-year-old male driver remained at the scene and is working with authorities.

The cause of the incident is being investigated, but drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors.
