[09-17-2022] Fresno County, CA – One Killed, Five Others Injured in Fatal DUI Crash in Central California

Five people were hurt, including a driver who is suspected of driving under the influence, in a DUI head-on collision in central California on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

The crash occurred just after 9:00 p.m. near Kerman, west of Fresno.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect, 27, was driving a 2003 Honda alone when it collided with a 2017 Acura.

According to local news, the Honda is thought to have veered into the oncoming lane and the Acura’s path.

According to the highway patrol, the Acura’s driver, a Mendota woman in her twenties, died at the scene.

According to officials, all four of her passengers were hospitalized, three with major injuries and one with minor ones.

According to the Bee, the driver of the Honda was detained at a hospital on suspicion of DUI and vehicular homicide.

The investigation lasted until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.
