[09-19-2022] San Diego County, CA – DUI Crash Results in Male Pedestrian Died at Scripps Ranch

Authorities reported that a male died in a pedestrian crash involving a car driven by a suspected DUI driver crossing Interstate 15 in Scripps Ranch Sunday, September 18, 2022.

According to the CHP, the accident happened around 4 a.m. on the section of the freeway north of Miramar Road.

According to CHP Public Affairs Officer Jesse Matias, the 23-year-old San Diego man driving the car was detained on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The pedestrians’ and drivers’ identities were still unknown as of Monday morning.
