[09-27-2026] Sacramento County, CA – One Killed, Another Injured in Collision With Semi-Truck Near Sherman Island

One person was killed, and another sustained injuries following a collision involving a semi-truck and a utility trailer on State Route 160 near Sherman Island in Sacramento County early Sunday morning, September 27, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 5:31 a.m. near Sherman Island Cross Road and was initially reported as a head-on collision.

CHP logs indicated that a semi-truck and utility trailer were blocking the roadway. Authorities later confirmed a fatality and requested the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office to respond to the scene.

One person was transported to NorthBay Medical Center. Additional information about that person’s injuries was not immediately available.

CHP also requested an evidence tow for a black Ford F-150 and utility trailer. Authorities had identified the driver of a Ford F-250, but further information about the people involved was not released.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
