[09-30-2023] Female Driver Died After Being Hit By Freight Trains in Santa Fe SpringsA female driver died after her car was struck by freight trains in Santa Fe Springs on Saturday evening, September 30, 2023.

According to the Whittier Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:57 p.m. along Rosecrans Avenue and Marquardt Avenue.

Two freight trains traveling in opposite directions reportedly struck and trapped a car traveling east on Rosecrans Avenue when it made a turn onto the tracks.

The unidentified female driver, who was the only occupant of the car, died at the scene. It is currently unclear how many people were involved and injured.
