[09-30-2023] Stanislaus County, CA – Driver Dead, Passenger Injured After a Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Modesto

A Tesla driver died, and a passenger was injured after a single-vehicle crash in Modesto on Saturday midnight, September 30, 2023.

The Modesto Police Department reported that the crash happened just after 12:00 a.m. at the intersection of Pelandale Avenue and Carver Road.

A Tesla Model Y was traveling eastbound when it crashed into a light pole at Carver Road, the southwest corner of the intersection.

Two people were reportedly involved in the crash. The driver died on the scene, while the passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The authorities also reported that the affected road was closed due to the Tesla car batteries’ hazards. According to the Modesto Fire Department, it took 7 hours for the crews to mitigate the incident.

The driver’s information was not yet released, as further investigation is ongoing.
