One person was killed after getting struck by a Union Pacific train in downtown Los Angeles on Monday night, October 1, 2022.
According to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department, the collision was reported shortly after 7:45 p.m. near the Santa Monica (10) Freeway at 2192 S. Santa Fe Ave.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity was not disclosed until the next of kin were notified.
Investigations were underway to determine what led up to the collision.
