[10-03-2022] Fresno County, CA – Unidentified Person Killed in a Suspected DUI Accident in Mendota

An unidentified man was killed following a suspected DUI crash in Mendota on Monday, October 03, 2022.

The collision happened just before 3 a.m. on Monday on Highway 33 near Bass Avenue.

According to police, a 27-year-old Mendota man was driving a Chevy Equinox south, north of Bass Avenue. He allegedly crossed into the northbound lanes of Highway 33 and collided with a Toyota Corolla driven by another man from Mendota.

The Toyota driver died at the scene.

The Chevy driver received minor injuries and was arrested for DUI.

There was no other information regarding the identity of the victim and the suspect.

The investigation is still ongoing.
