A motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries after a crash with an SUV on Highway 46 near the Shandon Rest Area in San Luis Obispo County on Friday afternoon, October 4, 2024.

The California Highway Patrol and CAL FIRE SLO reported that the crash occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes, prompting officials to close the lane entirely. A helicopter landed to transport the injured motorcyclist to the hospital.
