A teen riding a motorcycle was killed after allegedly running a stop sign and being struck by a truck in Madera County on Wednesday night, October 5, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 20 and Road 16.
The accident reportedly involved a Ford F-250 and a 2004 Honda motorcycle.
According to investigators, a 17-year-old Chowchilla boy was traveling on his motorcycle west on Avenue 20 toward Road 16.
The truck was being driven by a 56-year-old man who was traveling north on Road 16 and approaching Avenue 20.
According to the officials, Road 16 lacks stop signs, but Avenue 20 does.
According to police, the motorcycle rider on Avenue 20 ran the stop sign and was struck by the approaching truck.
The CHP reported the motorcycle rider was ejected and was declared dead at the scene. He wore a helmet.
Additionally, they claim that the Ford driver was unharmed.
Drugs and alcohol are not currently thought to have played a role in this collision.
