[10-05-2025] Los Angeles County, CA โ€“ Woman Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle While Walking Dog in Miracle Mile

A staff member for Los Angeles Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky was recovering from serious injuries after being struck by a Toyota pickup truck while walking her dog in the Miracle Mile neighborhood, Los Angeles, on Sunday morning, October 5, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 8:30 a.m. near 8th Street and Cloverdale.

The truck may have run a stop sign before striking the victim and her dog. After briefly stopping, the occupants of the truck fled the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital with fractured bones, while the dog was pronounced dead at a veterinarian.

The female driver of the truck later surrendered to authorities and was booked for a felony hit-and-run charge. She was cited and released under Los Angeles Countyโ€™s no-bail policy. Councilmember Yaroslavskyโ€™s office called the incident โ€œheartbreakingโ€ and emphasized their support for the victim.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
