[10-06-2023] Ventura County, CA – Oil Spill Reported After Car Vs. Truck Collision on Highway 101

An oil spill was reported after a car vs. truck collision in Ventura on Friday morning, October 6, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 101, south of Sanjon Road, just after 8:00 a.m.

The collision between the Honda Civic and the yellow water truck resulted in the spillage of five gallons of diesel and twenty quarts of engine oil. Authorities arrived at the scene and found the truck on its side in the right lane.

No information was released regarding the injuries sustained in the crash or exactly how many people were in the vehicles.

The truck may have been associated with a Caltrans crew operating in the vicinity at the time. No further details were available.

An investigation is being conducted to determine what caused the crash and what events led up to it.
