[10-07-2023] Kern County, CA – Two Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision in Bakersfield

Two unidentified people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Bakersfield on Saturday night, October 07, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol and Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Highway 178 near Kelso Valley Rd.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash, including a BMW, a Ford Explorer, and a motorcycle cut in half.

A victim was unconscious and was given tourniquets to a leg and arm, while another was conscious and sustained minor injuries. Mercy Air was unable to transport them because of the darkness.

A deputy traveling east was also reportedly involved but was not injured. It is currently unclear how many people were involved.

The highway was closed after the crash. Information about the other parties or the collision’s cause was not immediately available.
