According to Lassig, the woman, identified as Sharon D. of Temecula, was spotted walking in the residential area close to the Morgan Hill community as her 77-year-old husband drove next to her.
For unknown reasons that the California Highway Patrol is still investigating, the woman was standing on the right side of the couple’s 2017 Acura TL at the intersection with the passenger door ajar when her husband backed the car up.
According to Lassig, Miller-Dzurinda was knocked to the ground by the open door, and the vehicle ran over her.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck and killed on a Temecula residential street Monday, October 10, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision transpired shortly after 11:00 a.m. near the intersection of Howell Mountain and Serdonis streets.
The California Highway Patrol has received a report that an Acura sedan was involved in the collision, but no additional information is currently available.
Although the specifics are still unknown, it appears that the driver did not attempt to flee the scene of the accident if we are to believe CHP.
The Riverside County Fire Department’s paramedics arrived a few minutes later and confirmed the victim’s death at the scene shortly after their arrival.
