According to the California Highway Patrol, as a result of a hit-and-run driver leaving the scene of the accident, two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision on County Road 99W near Willows Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
According to the Willows area California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on County Road 99W just north of County Road 24 in Glenn County.
Barbara E., 74, of Orland, was driving on County Road 99W just north of County Road 24 with passenger Joe E., 75, of Orland, when an unidentified male driving a 2007 Pontiac G5 crashed into the back of Everest’s car, causing it to flip over.
“After the accident, the Pontiac turned around and drove away north on County Road 99W,” the news release said.
Everest got a sore back and neck, and bruises on her stomach, among other minor injuries. In the accident, her passenger also got minor injuries, including cuts on his head and right arm.
Both were taken to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico by ambulance for treatment. Officials with the CHP said they think impairment was a factor in this crash.
