According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a person was struck by a semi-trailer and suffered serious injuries on Union Avenue on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
The crash occurred at 4:30 a.m. on Union Avenue off of Belle Terrace.
The officers were called to the northbound lanes of Union Avenue regarding a person who had been hit by a car.
Major wounds were discovered on a semi-trailer accident victim by police. They were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
According to the police, there was no sign of alcohol or drug use before the collision.
Local authorities are still investigating the collision.
