[10-13-2022] Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield Results in One DeathAn unidentified pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident on Highway 99 on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

The crash occurred around 7:56 p.m. on Highway 99, southbound, close to Hosking Road in Bakersfield.

The pedestrian was fatally struck by what appeared to be a work truck while crossing Highway 99.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol closed the off-ramp while they looked into the situation.

The person operating the car remained on the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain unknown.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
