According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle crash versus a sedan severely injured at least one person and is backing up traffic in East Sonora Thursday, October 13, 2022.
The collision occurred just before 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mono Way and Tuolumne Road in East Sonora
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the sedan was stopped and waiting on Tuolumne Road to make a right turn onto Mono Way when the motorcycle swerved to avoid rear-ending the car but instead collided with the right side of the sedan, which caused the rider of the motorcycle to be ejected from the vehicle.
The rider of the motorcycle sustained significant injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in an ambulance on the ground.
A portion of the roadway is currently blocked by the wreckage, and officers are continuing to direct traffic around it. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
