A Fresno County sheriff’s deputy was transported to the hospital following a head-on collision with another vehicle in a Clovis DUI accident on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
The collision occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Willow and Nees avenues.
The deputy was halted at Willow and Nees avenues due to a red light. A collision between two cars traveling west on Nees caused one of the vehicles to travel north near the intersection.
According to Tony Botti, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office’s public information officer, the car struck the deputy’s patrol car head-on.
The deputy was admitted to the hospital for a medical examination before being released shortly after.
According to Botti, Clovis police responded to the collision and are in charge of the investigation.
A 25-year-old woman who was operating one of the vehicles was taken into custody by police on suspicion of DUI.
The police further reported that the individuals in the wrecked cars knew one another and had been hanging out earlier in the evening.
