An unidentified woman was hit by a car and killed in Desert Hot Springs early on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
According to Desert Hot Spring Police, the accident occurred around 4:00 a.m. at Indian Canyon Drive and Mission Lakes Boulevard.
They were called in response to reports of a serious pedestrian-vehicle collision.
Officers discovered a pedestrian was in the northbound traffic lane of Indian Canyon Drive based on statements made and evidence found there.
After passing Mission Lakes Boulevard, the driver of a green Chrysler was driving north on Indian Canyon Drive.
The driver attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian after spotting the person walking in the middle of the road but was unsuccessful.
The driver dialed 911 after stopping. The pedestrian died at the scene after suffering fatal injuries. On the other hand, the driver sustained minor injuries.
The Desert Hot Springs Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision.
