[10-15-2023] Ventura County, CA – Two Injured Following Motorcycle Crash During Police Pursuit on Highway 101

Two people were injured after a motorcycle crashed following a pursuit by police on Highway 101 in Ventura on Sunday afternoon, October 15, 2023.

The Ventura Police Department began the chase around 2:53 p.m. when the driver refused to yield to officers’ demands to stop near Portola Road and Valentine Road.

The chase was shortly called off when the motorcycle entered Highway 101 due to high traffic volume, but officials later received reports of a multi-vehicle crash involving the motorcycle.

The driver and a passenger were rushed to Ventura County Medical Center to be treated for moderate injuries. Other motorists didn’t show any visible injuries based on initial reports.

The motorcyclist was later arrested on multiple charges, while authorities are awaiting medical clearance for the passenger.
