Two drivers were killed in a collision on Sunday night in Hesperia at the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue and Sequoia Street on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
The crash occurred around 7:24 p.m. at the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue and Sequoia Street.
A 2010 Subaru Outback driven by a 43-year-old Hesperia resident and a 2021 Honda CBR motorcycle driven by a 22-year-old Hesperia resident collided.
According to deputies from the sheriff’s office, the Subaru was traveling south on Cottonwood when the motorcycle traveling west on Sequoia failed to stop at the stop sign.
A 71-year-old female Subaru passenger was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for what authorities described as minor injuries while both drivers were fatally injured.
Witnesses claim that the rider was thrown off the bike and landed in the back seat of the car he hit. Near the southwest corner, the bike came to a stop.
The investigation was taken over by investigators from the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
According to a sheriff’s news release, the collision is still under investigation whether or not drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this crash.
