[10-18-2022] Riverside County, CA – An Officer Suffered Minor Injuries After Suspected DUI Rear-Ended Crash in Home Gardens

According to the local news, an officer suffered minor injuries after a suspected DUI man rear-ended the CHP motorcycle in Home Gardens on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

The crash transpired just before 9:30 a.m. on Indiana Avenue in Home Gardens, an unincorporated area between Riverside and Corona.

According to authorities, the officer stopped Alvarado while driving a Nissan Maxima.

Alvarado put the Nissan in reverse and accelerated toward the officer as the policeman started to get off his motorcycle to speak with the driver.

Unfortunately, the Nissan struck the motorcycle, rendering it inoperable and inflicting minor injuries on the officer.

After taking a field sobriety test, Alvarado was under arrest. Two bottles of Jose Cuervo tequila are seen being removed from Alvarado’s car in a photo taken by Loudlabs News, a news organization that the Southern California News Group frequently collaborates.

According to the authorities, Alvarado was charged with driving without a license and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.

Alvarado was arrested and taken to Riverside’s Robert Presley Detention Center, where a $50,000 bail was set. Any witnesses should contact the CHP at 951-637-8000 to speak with an officer.
