Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Unbelievably, many people are killed in single-car collisions in California. When only one car is involved in an accident, only that car sustains damage. Different things, like a driver losing control, colliding with something, or hitting a stationary object, can result in accidents. Low visibility, inclement weather, and drunk or sleepy driving are all factors in these collisions.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 62% of all traffic fatalities in California involve a single vehicle. California has many potential distractions, so drivers must always be alert.

Numerous factors can lead to a single-vehicle collision. Accidents and runaways are more frequent on wet roads, particularly when vehicles are moving quickly or making sharp turns. A roadblock could be created by truck cargo or a fallen tree branch.

Your insurance coverage plan may severely restrict your ability to receive compensation for damages in a single-vehicle accident, even if the other driver was at fault.
