Fatal car accidents frequently occur on the state’s extensive and crowded highways. Death tolls from speeding and truck accidents on California roads consistently top 100 per year.

Many traffic collisions are preventable, including those involving drivers who are drunk or high on drugs. On the other hand, transportation company owners and managers may be held liable if their employees are forced to work excessively long hours without proper breaks.
