[10-19-2023] 73-Year-Old Male Bicyclist Killed Following Vehicle Collision on Canyon View AvenueA 73-year-old male bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Orange on Thursday morning, October 19, 2023.

According to the Orange Police Department, the incident occurred at the intersection of Canyon View Avenue and Skylark Place at around 9:08 a.m.

Authorities said the bicyclist from Orange was riding in a crosswalk when a Volkswagen Jetta struck him. The female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

No further information was released. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected as factors in the incident. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the crash.
