The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 60-year-old man identified as Kreydich M. died in a boating accident after a boat capsized in choppy waters in Sonoma County on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
The accident occurred just before 3:00 p.m. around the area of Salt Point State Park.
A report of a small inflatable boat capsized off-shore near Salt Point State Park was made to dispatch.
According to police, the caller described seeing three people struggling to swim back to shore after their boat capsized.
The caller reported that two of the three people reached the shore before emergency personnel arrived and that the third person was still in the water face down and immobile.
According to police, the person who was trapped under a large rock in the water was found by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s helicopter.
The victim was successfully pulled out of the water, and flown to a nearby bluff, and lifesaving procedures were carried out there.
