[10-20-2023] 70-Year-Old Rider Killed Following Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Collision Along Highway 101 in San RafaelA 70-year-old rider named Douglas A. was killed following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in San Rafael on Friday morning, October 20, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 8:00 a.m. along the northbound lane of Highway 101 near the I-580 interchange.

The BMW driven by the 70-year-old Mill Valley resident reportedly crashed into a Ford F-150 towing a utility trailer after he had changed lanes. The rider fell from the vehicle and was run over by the Ford’s trailer.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, while the Ford driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigations.

The authorities have dismissed alcohol as a factor and are currently investigating further into the cause of the fatal collision.
